Modern Ramble Residence
For this incredible new construction project, the homeowner was also the builder. He and his wife were busy running their businesses and raising two tween girls all while building their new home. In spite of that, time and attention were paid to each detail of the architecture, construction, design and furnishing of this new home. Our client, again the builder in this case, had secured a lovely piece of property in a beautiful section of The Ramble community in South Asheville for their new home. He had very specific selections in mind for many areas, and our team worked with him to pull those individual ideas into a cohesive whole while furnishing and decorating the home. We worked through architectural details and selections together throughout construction, while collaborating with local and regional vendors to personalize each space and ensure each area functioned and felt as the owners intended.
This home features extra levels of detail throughout including unique elements such as the plaster walls in the Kitchen and Butler’s Pantry, a glass floor from the Pantry through to the Lower Level hallway, and stone stills at bathroom windows. The cabinetry finishes, stone slabs, plaster tones, custom metal details, lighting, accent tiles, countertops, and other various details were meticulously determined by the builder with our team consulting along the way. Much of the furniture was custom made, all during the COVID pandemic and resulting supply chain delays. The wait was well worth it! Working with local galleries on the artwork and objects featured throughout the interiors was a special treat for our design team, adding texture, interest and local flavor to these custom interiors. The end result is a liveable modern home that is warm enough to relax in, all while enjoying the natural light and views from the expansive glass windows.
