Walnut Cove Transitional Retreat
This transitional style residence is a mountain retreat within a gated golf course community in Asheville, NC. Interiors for this home were intentionally neutral so that the finishes would not compete with the incredible mountain views or the homeowner’s collection of wall art and sculpture.
While neutrality was important, so too was keeping the interiors unique and interesting. The double front doors open out to a stone water feature. Vaulted ceilings feature stained cedar and timbers. Dark walnut floors are the base of the interior palette, while painted cabinetry houses glass shelving, lit with LED strips from each side.
The Kitchen, Dining and Living spaces are visible to each other. Each space has its unique elements, while all are coordinated to be visible to one another. The Kitchen features pocketing sliding doors that stack out of the way when entertaining, for indoor-outdoor living with a mountain view.
Grays and blues are incorporated throughout the home. White and gray marble clad the Master Bath, while blues and grays are featured in the artwork and fabrics of the Master Bedroom.
Downstairs, the family room is open to the glass wine cellar one one side, and sliding doors to the porch on the other. Views are spectacular from all three floors of this custom home.
The clients now enjoy entertaining family and friends, and relaxing in a space that is light and airy while perfectly suited to its mountain setting.
“Allard and Roberts did an outstanding job. Living out of state and trying to build a home was a little overwhelming. They had worked with our architect and builder before so were very familiar with how they worked. They were always on the same page by staying in contact with them. So with our choices we felt that we had the perfect team for this project.
After talking to us, Allard and Roberts had a great feel of the style and design we were wanting. They listened to us and kept us focused. They were very organized and kept our selections simple but with great and beautiful choices-never felt overwhelmed. Very professional in every way. They were a great team to work with and ended up with a beautiful home. I would definitely and highly recommend them.”
